The beginning year of 1261 was one of intense suffering for Fiva, as within the year she had seen Norman Vortice attempt to kill her dear friend Aras, the burning of her home within the Great Forest, and Aras near death after their final encounter with Korvath the Howling Wind and his band. However, once she and Aras had been rescued by a party of Ielrer (High Elves) from Ia’Nellsa, the elves had taken her and her friend to the elven capital in order to recover from their wounds. It was there that she was recognized as a heroine, as she was the one who had killed Korvath – A threat to the lives of all elves who had called the Great Forest their home. Unfortunately, the elves seemed to have attempted to distance her from Aras, and though they had tried to reason with her Fiva eventually decided to accompany him once he had learned of the recent events surrounding his hometown of Rothsal and had decided he would return to ensure the safety of his old village. (Ahrea Campaign 2: Journey of the Monster Hunter. AC1261)
Though she was offered a lifetime of luxury by Lord Enor of Ia’Nellsa, Fiva was unable to ignore the strong feelings she held for the Monster Hunter, and joined his side again in his new journey. She felt as if she loved the one who had been the only friend she had ever had in her life, but still she felt conflicted, hearing a voice that told her that she should not become attached to him. Regardless, she continued to travel with [[:aras | Aras] despite knowing that he was on what amounted to a suicide mission, unable to find solace in anyone other then her companion.
The first two days of travel out of Ia’Nellsa saw the two pass the Ja’Dea Mountain Range, and led the two to seek refuge from a intense snowstorm that was brewing out upon the Eastern Tundra. While they had found a small wooded grove on the western side of the Ja’Dea Mountain Range to camp within, the two had found themselves startled by a loud noise and determined it to be a white dragon of an gigantic size. Fiva found this to be entrancing, as she had never seen a dragon before in her entire life and found the creature to be oddly beautiful. (Ahrea Campaign 3: Trial Of The Monster Hunter Session 1 – Setting Forth From Ia’Nellsa. AC1261)
A further two days of travel upon the Eastern Tundra saw the two encounter a band of Dakans and their Dakrahn commander preparing to execute a number of innocent civilians that they had captured. As Aras was unwilling to let them face their fate alone, Fiva assisted him with fighting off this band of draconians, saving the lives of some 20 people in the process. (Ahrea Campaign 3: Trial Of The Monster Hunter Session 2 – Captors Of The Frostfields. AC1261)
Travel upon the Eastern Tundra soon became extremely difficult after the two had rescued the people of the wagon train, as blizzards became frequent in the area and their travels were reduced to a crawl in the weather conditions. However, after nearly a week and a half of traveling across the Tundra they had reached the outskirts of the city of Vels, the human capital city of Northern Ahrea that had fallen to the draconians in AC1260. The night of their arrival saw Fiva having a trance she was unable to forget for a long time afterwards, as she had dreamed about her father Iaeven dying in her defense eleven years ago. Though Aras was desperate to calm her, Fiva was shaken by her trance. The next day saw the two reach the Field of the Blades and the old camp of Aras’s unit in the Army of the Sword’s Path, two places where she was able to witness her friend lose his composure. Soon she was the one desperate to comfort her heartbroken friend, though she was interrupted by a band of draconians and their human allies announcing themselves as soldiers of the Black Legion of Vas. Unable to escape from the troopers Aras and Fiva engaged them, eventually becoming the victors of the fight however suffering severe wounds, Fiva herself suffering a arrow wound to her left shin. Regardless of her own pain, however, Fiva kept comforting her friend during his depression, watching on as he went about burying his old comrades from the Army of the Sword’s Path. Unable to stay any longer then they already had in fear of being captured by more draconians in the area, Aras and Fiva departed the Field of the Blades to head to the north, where they would be able to cross the open Eastern Tundra again in order to reach the Ana’Len Mountain Pass and avoid the draconians.
